Dr. Santilukka brings a thoughtful energy to every visit and a genuine excitement for helping patients see the world more clearly. She grew up in Chicago and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry.
What she loves most about optometry is that unforgettable “wow” moment, when a patient tries on their new prescription, and everything suddenly looks sharper. For her, it never gets old. She also finds it fascinating how much the eyes can reveal about overall health, offering important insights into what’s happening throughout the body.
Dr. Santilukka has a special passion for myopia management, partly because she’s experienced it herself. She understands firsthand how impactful progressive nearsightedness can be, and she’s committed to helping children slow that progression with today’s advanced treatment options.
Patients appreciate her approachable nature and the way she makes every visit feel relaxed. As a Libertyville resident herself, she loves seeing familiar faces around town, so don’t be surprised if you run into her outside the office (and definitely say hi!).
Outside of work, Dr. Santilukka stays busy with her husband and their two elementary school-aged children. When she finds a quiet moment, she loves reading, always aiming to outdo her previous year’s book count, exploring new restaurants as a self-proclaimed foodie, and traveling whenever she can (with just two continents left on her list!).
