If you’ve ever met Dr. Pak, you know immediately that she leads with heart. She grew up on the island of Guam before moving to Chicago to pursue her education, earning her undergraduate degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.
During her time there, she served as Community Service Director of the ICO Student Association, President of the ICO Council of Ethics, and was a member of the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society.
What truly defines Dr. Pak’s approach to care is her understanding that vision goes far beyond 20/20. As a student, she struggled with reading and studying despite working hard, and it wasn’t until her optometry training that she discovered her eyes weren’t working together as efficiently as they should. That moment of clarity changed everything, and it continues to shape how she cares for her patients today.
Dr. Pak has a special passion for vision therapy, where she helps patients strengthen the way their eyes work together to support learning, focus, and everyday comfort. She understands firsthand how life-changing it can be when your visual system truly supports you.
Outside the office, Dr. Pak stays busy with her husband, her college sweetheart, and their two daughters. She also volunteers as an 8th-grade religion teacher at her church and enjoys creative outlets like drawing and knitting, as well as running, golf, and getting lost in a good book, show, or game.
And if you stop by the office, you might just meet Zippy the turtle, a beloved part of the clinic family.
